We're thrilled you're joining us this Winter

Read on to find resources to help plan your trip to Hemsworth Estate, what to expect and to fill out your camp intake form.

Step 1

Fill out our Winter Camp intake form. This will help us create Camp Hemsworth to be your dream experience, tell us about your preferences, any dietary requirements you have and if needed, pair you with a complimentary roommate.

Step 2

Plan your trip. We have resources below to help you find your way to Hemsworth Estate. If there is interest we can also look at providing transport to and from Christchurch to Ashburton and back.

Step 3

Prepare! Check out our guide on what to expect, the planned schedule, and start dreaming of what you’d like to experience on your winter adventure. We will also have a suggested but optional packing list.

How to get there:

Hemsworth Estate is a 10 minute drive from the centre of Ashburton and approximately 1:20 from Christchurch central. 

Please let us know in your intake form if you’re interested in transport from Christchurch to Hemsworth Estate and back.

Check in + Departure

Camp Hemsworth welcomes guests from 4:00pm with an hour to settle in before a welcome Apertivo at 5:00pm. 

Departure is scheduled for 1:00pm after our Farewell Brunch.

What to expect

Accomodation

All suites contains two king single beds, a welcome guide, water jug and glasses, snack basket, lighting, towels, linens and a seating area.

Bathrooms

Two out of three suites in the Homestead have ensuites and one has a spacious bathroom down the hall.

Meals

Breakfast will be served from 8:30-10:30am on Saturday and a lighter self-served affair on Sunday to tide over until our Farewell Brunch from 8:00am – 10:00am.

High Tea will be served as lunch on Saturday containing 5 mouth-watering savoury selections,  4 seasonal sweet treats and freshly made scones with jam and cream.

Apertivo will be served one hour before dinner in the Drawing Room each night and includes a cocktail or mocktail and light pre-dinner snack.

Dinner is a sumptuous 3-course meal served in the Dining Room. These dinners will be themed and you have the option to dress for the occaision if you wish.

Dietary requirements can be accommodated with advance notice. Please include these in your camp intake form.

Wet Weather

In the case of wet weather, we will have an alternative location or activity for each event that is no longer possible.

For example, s’mores will turn into candlelit fondue.
