Who else lives at Hemsworth Estate?

While no other dogs will be staying in the homestead during your stay, the following animals are also resident on the property:

  • Willow, the 2-year old Cavoodle
  • Yve, the House Cat
  • Chase and Jordan, the Barn Cats
  • A Flock of Chickens
  • A small Herd of Sheep

Please note that while your dog may be comfortable around domestic cats within your home environment, they may be more likely to chase an unknown cat. This is the reason why we ask for on-leash or excellent recall while exploring the estate grounds.

Can dogs go on furniture?

The short answer is yes. This is their home away from home too. If your dog is normally snuggled up to you on the couch, or comes in for morning cuddles, they are most welcome to at Hemsworth Estate as well.

When you book a pet-friendly stay, we put dog-friendly blankets, and coverings on furniture most likely to be enjoyed by your pets as well. (These are meticulously cleaned between each use)

We only ask they are not in areas where people are preparing food like the kitchen.

On Leash and Off-Leash Areas

Your dog is welcome in the homestead and the grounds of the estate with supervision at all times with either excellent recall, or on a lead. We prefer a lead at the beginning of your stay.

You are welcome to have off-leash fun in our designated area. This is fully enclosed and also has the bin for doggie poo. You can also be off-leash in your guest suite with the door closed.

During events such as Afternoon Tea on Fridays, or when B&B has full occupancy, Pets in public spaces must be leashed, contained in their crate, or firmly held when they are in all common areas of the Estate. This is not necessary if you are the sole guests. We will advise if this is the case upon check in.
