You’ll be treated to a champagne cocktail (or mocktail) upon arrival, a standing progressive High Tea (both savoury and sweet) featuring mouth-watering morsels made fresh in our kitchen, surrounded in luxury from a bygone era. Your entire party will enjoy a cozy atmosphere at a table trimmed with linen napkins and sterling silver flatware. Picture sipping tea out of a fine bone china tea cup, sharing delicious treats and making new memories with your favourite people.

“We had our first visit to Hemsworth Estate yesterday, to enjoy Mother’s Day High Tea. The venue was spotless, immaculately presented in keeping with its character and the age of the building. The food served was delicious and service attentive. Even the air was delicately fragrant with yesteryear scents of lavender and lily of the valley. We had a lovely time and can recommend others to pay this lovely hidden-away gem a visit, too. I can imagine the gardens in spring would be intoxicatingly beautiful. Is dreaming of escaping to the country, spending your days gardening, baking, and befriending chickens your vibe? We should definitely be friends 🙌

📩 Send this to someone you want to have afternoon tea with! We're open this Wednesday from 1:00-4:00pm for afternoon tea.

Need the details? Read on 👇
🕰 Arrive anytime between 1:00pm and 3:30pm (we will close at 4:00pm)
📞 No need to book but please do call ahead if you have dietary requirements or a group of 5 or more.
🌹 Choose your own table in Morning Room.
☕ Be served a fresh pot of french press coffee, or a pot of tea of your choice.
🍰 Choose from a selection of seasonal cake, biscuits and tea sandwiches available for purchase. (Altogether your total won’t be more than $20 per person.)
🐾 Spend the afternoon catching up with your group, take a wander around the gardens and take a small tour around the Homestead. (You might even get to meet Willow, the puppy!)
🛎 When you’re ready to leave, pay via cash, bank transfer or credit card.

Today we enjoyed attending rather than hosting an event 🙌🏻

Huge thanks to the Mid Canterbury Timebank and Connecting Mid Canterbury for hosting the Amazing Race. We put a team of smart, feminist women called the Rosies after Rosie the Riveter together and came second place!

With 45 mins to spare before call time, we headed to @smoke_ashburton for a celebratory drink 🍻
